Cranes - Self Titled album 2008

I just don't like this new album. I have bought all the cranes cd's and always been a bit of a fan. The combination of grinding guitars and heavenly vocals really did it for me. But as the time has gone buy the=y have lost the noise and it's just Allison Shaws vocals and some tinkering music. The first song Diorama sounds like music from a jewelery box... Damn it is annoying.

Well I thought things would get better but they didn't really , its more repetitive tinkering and Allison singing with her 12 year old vocals.

The album really sounds like they chucked it together in a couple of days. It seems a bit all over the place. I thought by song 5 Panorama maybe the album would come together, but no it gets worse. If you enjoyed the Tragedies of Orestes and Electra album, then this is for you. It is extremely boring and yes, song 5 "panorama" is sung in French.

This is definitely one of the wost Cranes albums. If you liked the early stuff , stay away from this. Buy it only if you enjoyed the boring frenchy stuff..
